Johno Hutchison AKA “HUTCH”, has been making quality handcrafted surfboards for the past 30 years and piles his trade, daily in his humble home based shaping bay in sub-tropical Ballito, specializing in custom hand-shaped surfboards to suit each individual surfer’s needs. Using only the finest materials, each surfboard is shaped, designed and custom built to your exact specifications, with no shortcuts taken. The high energy youth model. These boards come with XXX rating, made and designed for accomplished surfers who are looking for unreal small wave performance. Generally, concaves are accentuated, low volume throughout and super light glassing make these challenging boards to ride and push performance levels to the max. THIS BOARD

This board features a wide forward outline with round forgiving rails, a flatter deck and a wide “hexagon” tail. The rocker is extremely low in the entry, for instant speed from take off, with a natural smooth flip in the tail for tight arcs out of turns. A good all-rounder that can be effectively ridden 4″ to 6″ shorter, 1/8″ thinner, and just slightly wider than your normal short board without sacrificing any carve or drive. The Young Blood is like no other model. Also available with 2 or 4 channels or a 5 fin set up so it can be ridden as a thruster or a quad.

The Sanchez is a close relative of the Vampire Twin, with the wide point lower down to allow for more performance based surfing and adding a quad fin setup to add extra drive and hold. The Sanchez has been an instant success.

THIS BOARD

The IF-15 model is a high performance model developed for the WCT surfer Italo Ferreira.

Shaped with a well-balanced outline that foils into a fuller wider nose creating excellent stability upon returning from extreme maneuvers. We keep a sharp edge around the curve of the tail, which allows maximum control through out any type of maneuver. This boards bottom come standard with a slight single concave. Medium rocker. Ridden best with a squash tail but also works very well with a round tail or swallow tail to accommodate waves from anywhere in the world. We can put together this board in many different sizes to accommodate any customer. The board is much more progressive with actually more volume than your normal idea of what a WCT performance shape would be. Italo is always coming out of his maneuvers with high speed through landings while rotating out because he does not waste time sinking in the middle of  his landings so he is always keeping the speed and still has all the control he could possibly want. These newer performance style boards that the guys are starting to ride translate into a very user friendly board for the standard user where it used to be the other way around. The Italo model has the right amount of volume to get you into those 2-3 extra waves each session that we always seem to miss without sacrificing the performance.
