THIS BOARD

This board features a wide forward outline with round forgiving rails, a flatter deck and a wide “hexagon” tail. The rocker is extremely low in the entry, for instant speed from take off, with a natural smooth flip in the tail for tight arcs out of turns. A good all-rounder that can be effectively ridden 4″ to 6″ shorter, 1/8″ thinner, and just slightly wider than your normal short board without sacrificing any carve or drive. The Young Blood is like no other model. Also available with 2 or 4 channels or a 5 fin set up so it can be ridden as a thruster or a quad.

THIS BOARD

Here we took old school cool and blended it with some new school… for the older soldier that can rip but whose body may need a little help. The Major has a forward wide point outline for drive, lowered entry rocker for easy paddling and speed. We left a bit of thickness through the front for that little more volume. That extra flotation gives you solid paddle power letting you get in early and with a little bit of a wider tail rounder or squash. The Major gives that nice lively feeling with looseness, amazing speed and an all round versatile board. All this is complimented with the double to double inside a single concave. Can be ridden as a thruster or a quad. 5 fin options are also available.

    THE HISTORY OF HUTCHISON HANDCRAFTED SURFBOARDS 

    Hutchison Handcrafted Surfboards is a roots-up surfboard shaping company, living large on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Johno Hutchison AKA “HUTCH”, has been making quality handcrafted surfboards for the past 30 years and piles his trade, daily in his humble home based shaping bay in sub-tropical Ballito, specializing in custom hand-shaped surfboards to suit each individual surfer’s needs. Using only the finest materials, each surfboard is shaped, designed and custom built to your exact specifications, with no shortcuts taken. These boards are inspired by the past, present and future of board design. Johno enjoys making boards reminiscent of days past and keenly keeps an idea of what’s happening in designs of the present.     These fins incorporate a hexagonal foam core material and construction that offers the traditional fibreglass fin like flex with the added advantage of weight reduction. The carbon base maintains rigidity at the base for stability and drive which converts to a progressive tip flex.

    For lightweight more agile surfers who want ultimate sensitivity between your foot and board. High density EVA foam wedge inserted into the tail kick resulting in added control and drive. Developed to improve all round performance in our technical grips. CC55 Closed Cell EVA is lighter, waterproof and super thin. If a board has a rolled deck, the Kick Flex insert on the tail kick helps the grip mould to the same shape as the board. (used on solid kicks only). 4A high grade adhesive formula, developed for EVA offers maximum, long lasting adhesion. O&E’s unique CC55 is a closed cell EVA formula which has been developed to be UV stabilized, water resistant, super grippy, extremely thin and light weight. The addition of purposely positioned perforation and slots also reduces weight and adds extra grip for toes to grip onto resulting in MORE DRIVE, GRIP, PRECISION. Base Flex groove at the base of the tail kick helps the grip mould to the board for superior adhesion.

The addition of purposely positioned perforation and slots also reduces weight and adds extra grip for toes to grip onto resulting in more drive, grip and precision.

    The Godfather has become a staple in the Ocean and Earth tail pad range - with it's unique 5-piece design that extends the traction area on your board and high density 'Power Kick' for controlled power surfing.

    High density EVA foam wedge inserted into the tail kick resulting in added control and drive. Developed to improve all round performance in our technical grips. CC55 Closed Cell EVA is lighter, waterproof and super thin. If a board has a rolled deck, the Kick Flex insert on the tail kick helps the grip mould to the same shape as the board.
