Johno Hutchison AKA “HUTCH”, has been making quality handcrafted surfboards for the past 30 years and piles his trade, daily in his humble home based shaping bay in sub-tropical Ballito, specializing in custom hand-shaped surfboards to suit each individual surfer’s needs. Using only the finest materials, each surfboard is shaped, designed and custom built to your exact specifications, with no shortcuts taken. THIS BOARD

This is your all round performance short board for guys who like a bit more length or volume but still want to go ballistic. Featuring a fuller outline, they are ideal for guys who are experienced surfers but just don’t surf as much as they were when they were 18. Single into double concave for generating speed in the flats and slightly more forgiving rails, allowing you to fly like the wind and hook it in the pocket like a madman without bogging. Big Boy models are anywhere from 6.0ft and upwards, glassed strong but light like a good board should be.

THIS BOARD

The high energy youth model. These boards come with XXX rating, made and designed for accomplished surfers who are looking for unreal small wave performance. Generally, concaves are accentuated, low volume throughout and super light glassing make these challenging boards to ride and push performance levels to the max. Be warned, if you tame the beast you will never go back to anything else. Whippa-Snappa’s are generally under 6.2ft.
